Functionality:
Hydrotherm’s heated towel rails are made exclusively from Copper tube and solid brass fittings. Copper is renown for its high thermal conductivity, which allows heat to radiate into the towel. Unlike our competitors; whose towel rails are constructed from materials (mild steel or stainless steel) with very poor thermal conductivity, Hydrotherm’s heated towel rail will dry and warm you towel whether the fabric is touching the bars or not. This avoids the wet / dry sections of the towel and delivers an evenly dried, fluffy warm towel.

Warranty:
All Hydrotherm models come with a Five Year Warranty on the rail and a 3 year warranty on the element.

One the biggest features of all Hydrotherm heated towel rail is the replaceable heating element. At Hydrotherm we consider our heated towel rails to be a ‘life long’ product. Elements for any model can be purchased for $160 RRP and can easily be re-fitted, avoiding any need to re-purchase or retile over obsolete fixing points.

Finish:
All Hydrotherm heated towel rails are electro-plated chrome (same process as all high end tap ware). The finish is flawless and we go to great lengths to ensure it is the best on the market.

All Hydrotherm heated towel rails are 100% Australian made and owned…
Australian made ensures we can provide after sales service that is second to none.

In addition to the points made above; Hydrotherm’s water filled heated towel rails use significantly less power and have the highest electrical safety rating on the market.

The highest warranty for any ‘dry element’ heated towel rail is only 2 years…

Hydrotherm recommends wiring your heated towel rail to a timer. It can be wired back to a light switch, digital timer or integrated computer system. These measures will increase lifestyle convenience, minimise power consumption and prolong the life of the element. Superior functionality means that your heated towel rail only needs to be on for a few hours in the morning and night to ensure dry, fluffy towels.

Thermostatically controlled heating elements help make Hydrotherm towel rails the most efficient on the market. The elements maintain the desired temperature (approx 45-50 degrees: external) without constantly drawing power. The average size element in most Hydrotherm heated towel rails is just 100 or 150 watts.

Because they are thermostatically controlled and super efficient, Hydrotherm heated towel rail are often left on all the time, however we recommend that our heated towel rails be connected to a timer.

Generally electrical appliances cost approx $1 per watt annually if left on all the time. The average element wattage in the Hydrotherm heated towel rail range is 100 watts and would therefore cost approx $100 per year. However if wired to a timer (as recommended) this figure would be more like $25 per year for 6 hours usage per day.

Although the majority of our rails are not designed to do so, some of our larger sizes are defiantly capable of heating the bathroom (ambient temperature). Copper’s thermal conductivity allows Hydrotherm towel rails to function similar to a mini radiator, pumping heat into both the towel and room. Appropriate models include the Platinum Tower & the H4 - Series. When considering heat output, the bigger the rail (more bars), the greater the heat.

NB: Power coated models provide 30% more heat.

NB: Smaller models are not designed to heat the room.

All Hydrotherm heated towel rails are available as non-heated models.
Non Heated models can usually be converted back to heated at a later date.

All Hydrotherm heated towel rails are filled with normal tap water. The water is subsequently heated using a water immersion electric element; no solutions or hazardous oil based liquids are used.

You should never have to touch the water level of your heated towel rail at any time. The unit is completely sealed and the water will never need replacing.

Hydrotherm heated towel rails have been awarded the highest safety rating of any other towel rail on the market. When Hard wired (see specs), Hydrotherm heated towel rail achieve an IPX 5 rating, which enables greater flexibility for installation positions.

Always check with your qualified electrician for information on where he/she can safely install your new towel rail.

NB: See Bathroom zones on our Specifications page for diagrams and more info.

Hydrotherm Towel warmers are available in a variety of widths; our 700mm wide towel rail will fit most standard size towels. It is recommended that you measure your own towels to ensure you choose the correct size. Remember towels can always double over to fit on the towel warmer.

All Hydrotherm towel rails must be installed with the power entering the bottom of the unit. As hot water rises and cooler water fall, the electric element needs to heat from the bottom to allow the water to circulate efficiently.

The difference between the single and double hard wire attachment is purely cosmetic. Both options conceal the element chord back into the wall. The double attachment is purely for aesthetic purposes as it provides the towel rail with a more even and finished look.
